This is an ‘I would rather be reading in the sun on the steps surrounded by tomato plants or on a loft bed under a mosquito net burning incense’ post.
Fortune favours the brave: scraping the life detritus off my brown carpet, I find a book voucher I won for topping year 12 visual arts due to expire on Friday. I buy a book! It is Reel to Real by bell hooks. Good life decision.
Chew is a food zine put together by regulation hottie Cass Grant, you could order it here but it’s sold out for now. I got the last one suckas! It came in the mail the other day, I read it with my lips and tongue. It’s got me mullin’ on meals shared with friends at places, and has helped me remember things. To mush the opinions of all my housies into one, they like the stories and think it’s funny that a zine has an editorial.
It will be added to the phat zine tin in our loungeroom (mostly Kassie’s impressive collection), we should have more group friend reading dates.
I’ve had the anxiety and just glared at my bellybutton all day, but also made vegan curry laksa (real slow, took me three Twin Peaks episodes) to nourish my housemates with, and they liked it, which helps. I cleaned a bit, too. Cleaning is important.
edit: Issue 2 in the works!
