My internship is pretty tops. I get to rifle through old art/design magazines in a lively manner, exchange witty quips with editors about our dirty knitting habits, and take three-hour lunch breaks before staggering into the office to hand out chocolate only to stagger back out at 4.30. Today I discovered a company had commissioned a really awesome competition to design some digital wallpaper. Look at the first-place entry! That’s a winning print if there ever were. Imagine my horror when I realised that the company has no intention of printing them out for commercial use: my dreams of a teapot-festooned room will have to wait. In the meantime I’ll sulk my way through back-copies of POL Oxygen (rest in peace) and laugh at my editor referring to Frankie Magazine as ‘that nanna-style rag’.
